The Sunnyland Stomp is a free-ranging annual summer celebration of the talent and creativity hiding behind the garden gates of the Sunnyland neighborhood in Bellingham, Washington. Each year, someone from the neighborhood creates custom visuals for the event, including a poster, apparel, signage and more. In 2023, I was lead designer and illustrator on the team that led the charge in creating a fun kaiju chicken invasion poster to herald the summer festivities.

Return of the titans

Inspired by the ferocious chicken of 2023, Otherlands Beer–a fellow Sunnyland local–decided to create their own diabolical behemoth to reign supreme among the titans of the neighborhood. In 2024, they asked us to illustrate the label for Mechachicken, a petite pale ale brewed specifically in celebration of The Sunnyland Stomp.
